During the recent Halewood South election we surveyed residents on the local issues that are important to them. These are the issues that were considered most important:
86 % agree that there should be education for 16 to 18 year old’s in Knowsley. It is ridiculous that our youngsters should have to travel to another borough for 6th form education.
55% prioritised protecting green spaces. There is clearly a balance needed between building more housing and protecting the green spaces around us.
42% prioritised road maintenance and repairing potholes. This is of particular importance for cyclists.
32% prioritised low council taxes. Those on fixed incomes and pensions need to be protected from council tax increases.
30% prioritised social services, which requires increased efficiency from the Labour run borough council.
These priorities along with surveys from other wards will contribute to our policies for Knowsley, which will be published on our website in due course.
