We rely on the goodwill and enthusiasm of our supporters and members in every activity we undertake. The future of the Conservative Party is very much in the hands of its members. So no matter how little or how much time you can give, it will be well used.
There are a number of different ways to get involved:
As a Deliverer
As such you would be responsible for an area of houses and would undertake to deliver newsletters and leaflets to those houses when needed (probably four times a year – plus extra deliveries at election time). If you would like to get involved please let us know through our Contact web page.
When you carry out surveys in our area we gain important information on local issues and the elector’s voting intentions. This information enables us to campaign effectively and helps to increase our membership base.
Some local issues are followed up with petitions to help local residents influence council decisions, such as planning applications. This is an important way of showing that we listen to and care about issues raised by local residents. Help us support our local communities.
MP’s, Councillors and local activists are often out campaigning in groups within the community, whether that means leafleting, canvassing or fundraising. These days are usually followed by a pub lunch or a drink, and are a great way to get some exercise! If you would like to be added to the local campaign days e-mail list, please sign up for email updates.
As a Fundraiser
Many members find that their skills can be best utilised by helping to organise the many varied social events that take place throughout the year, helping to raise funds as well as bringing enjoyment to everyone involved. Whatever your interests we should have some way of utilising them 🙂
As a Member
We need active members taking up roles within our association to organise the activities of the association, liaise with our members and supporters, and co-ordinate our activities with neighbouring associations / regional / national party.
Members play an active role in the Party, and receive important voting rights in Party elections. As a Member, you will be able to:
- Decide who represents the Party in local and general elections
- Vote in elections for the Party Leader and in our association AGM
- Attend Party Conferences
In addition, you will receive:
- A membership card and welcome booklet
- Regular email updates
